Tonight I’m only writing as a coping mechanism to stay awake.
We had our midway point celebration this afternoon. It was based on our best guess estimate of mileage due to several course changes making our exact mileage confusing. The midpoint of miles doesn’t necessarily mean we are halfway done time wise. Especially with the light winds we’re experiencing. Typically, the engines would be on about now, but due to our port side being compromised, it’s necessary to go old school and slowly sail along.
My 4th grade class put on a play one year based on the Phantom Tollbooth (I think) and I was cast with three others to represent the doldrums. I recall being on stage swaying lethargically. It was an undesirable role. This isn’t keeping me awake, I must find another strategy…
