Taou Pt. 2

Jer:
I’m in a better frame of mind today after a good night’s rest. We did some clean up this morning, rowed the dinghy in to meet Valentin and Gaston who live on the island, provide the moorings and sometimes serve dinner. We “may” get dinner on Tuesday if we’re still around, but it’s not looking good before then.
This is a nice anchorage for swimming and paddle boarding since it is very calm, but so far lots of rain and some thunder today so we haven’t ventured out yet.
I assume we will probably stay here until the weather looks good for getting to Tahiti smoothly and quickly. It shouldn’t take too much more than 24 hours if we’re lucky. We’re also holding out hope that the auto pilot will work on the other tack. The problem is with the rudder sensor, but it does seem to prefer going one direction over the other. Please keep your fingers crossed because otherwise it’s going to be a long 24 hours.
It’s raining again so I think we will watch The Wire. We only had a couple of movies that we saw ages ago and haven’t been able to download any more. We went through the last few seasons of Downton Abbey, but still have a ton of Wire shows to go. Sometimes we feel a little bit guilty about watching TV, but I figure this is our life now and if I want to watch some TV, that’s perfectly fine.
