It was April 1st that we left and we’ll arrive in our first real destination now on May 3rd. In fairness we did stop on the lee of a couple of Islands along the way but it feels like we’ve been at sea for a month and I’m really looking forward to life in a harbor and visiting with dear dear friends. I hope they like fresh daily pain au chocolate because Gambier is supposed to have great french bread.
A delivery Captain friend named Mats has explained to me on another long set of crossings that all you really remember is the first and the last day of a passage and the rest get munged together into an unrecognizable series of unmemorable events. We’ll see.
Last night while stargazing I saw 2 satellites zooming North to South and 2 South to North all in about 5 minutes. Both almost crossed paths overhead with their respective opposing satellites. For a split second I thought we maybe had gone to war and missiles were being shot but I’m pretty sure the North Pole and the South Pole are not at war.
Can’t wait to check in on the news. We’ll maybe not.
