April 3

We are now 48 hours into our 3-5 year trip (feel free to insert your expletive of choice here). Ha. Kind of a shocker.
There has been some excellent sea mammal action with the Sei whales (thank you, Trent, for the identification ) yesterday and what seemed like hundreds of dolphin playing around Agility this afternoon. It was fun to watch them from the trampoline.

Things are going smoothly. The first afternoon and night were a great reminder of what it is like living at sea. It wasn’t rough, but some decent swells and life felt very choppy. I had prepared dinner in advance, but found it difficult to heat up, get to the table, eat, and clean up (even though I didn’t participate in the clean up, it still seemed difficult). Finding a place for everything I needed for my 3 a.m. watch that was secure and convenient took some time and I forgot about having to do things such as wedge my foot against one wall and my butt against the opposite in order to brush my teeth without toppling over.

Night two always kind of sucks, but it’s been a great day. There is a warming trend as we head west so able to spend more time out on the fore and aft decks. We should arrive to Robinson Crusoe sometime in the wee hours of the morning. We’ve been making good way during the day with the screecher out, but take it down for the night (it’s a big sail and requires some maneuvering to take down so not the safest sail to have out at night with solo watches and shifting winds) so may slow down some. That’s about it for now.
Stay tuned….

Love your progress tracking on the website – my new favorite past time is watching Agility move across the globe. Also nice to see some land surrounding your blue arrow today!

Hiddy ho! So excited to follow your adventure. Words with friends is taking a back seat now! While you have spent the day on the high seas we have had glorious spring weather with the floral scents accompanying my steps. Sanitas and flagstaff today. Couldn’t get enuf.
