Hurray-a Moorea

Jer:
We made it out of Taini Marina yesterday! Anchored in Cook’s Bay, Moorea right at sunset, enjoyed a nice dinner on board, and to bed early. We’ve been going to bed ridiculously early. 7:30 isn’t out of the question and there have been a few earlier nights as well. It’s not particularly unusual to hit the sack early in the sailing community here and I was quick to jump on the bandwagon when I discovered it was legit in the Tuamotos.
This morning we lounged around a tad and then went in to walk around the island. Not literally, it being 60 km around, but to explore and scope out the area prior to our kids visiting. After a few hours of walking, we ended up at the Hilton and had a nice lunch and massages. We both took the hottest, longest showers we’ve had since we left Boulder in January. There was never very good hot water where we stayed in Chile and since then we’ve been on the boat (water and energy conservation) so it was fabulous. We ended the day with a sunset dinner at Moorea Beach Cafe which was also wonderful plus they drove us back to our dinghy. Now it’s nearly 9:00 p.m. and time for bed!
