We’ve had a few exciting weeks in the Caribbean. After a solid week of partying on Petit St Vincent, we had to kick ass to get up to St Marteen in time to hitch a ride on an incredible yacht, Varsovie, participating in the Heineken regatta. Elizabeth has a dear friend, Zosia, who has visited us a couple of different times on both Agilities and this is her dad’s yacht. Wow – what an experience that was. Varsovie is a 100′ Swan and a beauty. We raced on Saturday and Sunday and it was an absolute blast. Fast, exciting, and full of drama!
On Monday, my lovely mother-in-law Deb and her friend Arlyn joined us on Agility. We had to spend the night in the marina due to a large swell wreaking havoc around St Marteen, but were able to sail to St Bart’s on Tuesday. We anchored in what I have now dubbed best sunset anchorage (Anse de Colombier) and had a lovely dinner on Agility. Wednesday we headed into Gustavia, had marginal burgers at Cheeseburger in Paradise, cruised the shops, and a much better dinner out. Back to St Marteen, another nice night out – all sort of a whirlwind trip.
Due to a solid week of hard 8-12 hour days of sailing sandwiched between some serious goofing off, we are now cleaning like maniacs. It felt good to have a hard day’s work today.
We will head to Antigua soon with a couple of stops along the way.
