Jerri

Tim’s been doing a great job reporting the daily goings on, but I figure it’s time for me to weigh in.

It’s a beautiful night. As the (not quite as super as the last) super moon approaches, the night is lit up, but so clear that the stars remain brilliant. Sometimes the moon sets before I go back to bed, providing the opportunity for more stargazing. The first time I experienced the moon setting on watch my nose must have been buried in a book because I got up to look around and thought someone had turned the lights out! It took a moment to process what happened and still often takes me by surprise.

The calm weather is enjoyable. Being in a capsule surrounded by sea is more pleasant when it’s not being shaken like a snow globe in some giant toddlers fist. I do pilates every morning, cooking is easy, we watch an episode of Mad Men most afternoons (missed yesterday due to the sail drive incident), and life has a semblance of routine and ease. I’m enjoying every minute of it and not taking it for granted because I’m sure we will continue to have some surprises (drama) due to the sea being a fickle beast and Mother Nature in a state of agitation. Maybe the morning offering of egg shells will keep the peace.

Sayonara…
