I was going to try to do a video introduction of the nav station equipment last night, but we’re on Mr Toad’s wild ride again so will save that for a another time. It’s not too bad, but some gusts (topping out in the low 30’s since I’ve been up) and rough enough seas to give Agility a lot of hearty salt water rinses. I don’t think any of us got much sleep, but we are well rested after our two calm days and this shouldn’t last too long. It’s then supposed to be too calm (I’m a bad sailor who loves too calm – give me the doldrums any day). I believe we’re dealing with the end of the weather system we were avoiding earlier this week.
Not much else to report. I finished Some Luck, the first book in the new(ish) Jane Smiley trilogy, and enjoyed it. I’ve now moved on to Pat Conroy’s Prince of Tides for a re-read since he recently passed away. I’ve mainly stared at the apparent wind angle and speed and boat speed over ground for the last 3 hours. I had one minor scare when my big toe got lodged into the louvered panels covering the batteries under the nav station, but got it out without issue.
Stay tuned…
