We are on our way to the N Pass of Fakarava after spending a week in the south. What a great time we had meeting new friends, snorkeling, paddle boarding, watching amazing kite boarders, attending potluck bonfires, and diving. Tim dove a few times and I finally worked up my nerve this morning after a brief refresher with Mark the dive master yesterday. Other highlights were the physical beauty of the area, the 2 week old piglets, playing with a 6 month old Boxer, visiting the oldest church in the Tuamotus, and watching all of the sharks hanging around everywhere. I’m not sure what’s in store for us at the N Pass, but definitely a grocery run is called for. Fortunately, Debbie and Mike from Andiamo gave us some mung beans so we’re sprouting those every few days to at least have something fresh to munch on. Besides that, it’s been marlin and beans. The diving is supposed to be good there too, but I’m not sure we’ll stay too long. Some walking would be nice. I think a lot of the people we met this past week may be still be up there, but some have probably moved on.
