Jer:
Here we go again, back in the big seas, although we can still see Bora Bora. It’s pretty calm, but rolling so while not unpleasant for me, Elizabeth and Alex feeling a little yucky.
This morning we realized we could use a few more provisions so I quickly rode my bike into town and picked up more milk, eggs, and bread. While I was gone, Tim was getting the boat ready and Elizabeth was making rice pudding. She discovered a lot of worms in the rice. Gross. A large proportion of our dry goods were infested. We dumped a ton of stuff, vacuum sealed the items that were still okay, and scrubbed out some of the drawers. The rice that we bought in Riatea wasn’t properly sealed. Two bags were folded over and taped, but open at the ends so I feel quite confidant that’s where the problem arose. We still have enough food, but it was a pain in the neck and we’re all a little grossed out. That’s about it for the day so far and hopefully we will have an uneventful sail to Suwarrow.
